# Credits, quotes and billing support

Understand when credits are reserved or charged and what to send when a balance looks wrong.

### Credits, quotes and billing support

ClipSubtitles uses credits for final video rendering. The exact total depends on the output type, billable duration, resolution and quality.

In the current released service:

-   a standard 1080p captioned MP4 is 10 credits per billable video minute;

-   a standard 1080p transparent overlay is 8 credits per billable video minute;

-   SRT and VTT add no credit cost;

- high quality multiplies the relevant video-output cost by 1.5; and

-   a paid render has a two-credit minimum.

Previewing, editing and subtitle-file exports do not consume render credits.

### Quote, reserve, charge

1. **Quote:** ClipSubtitles shows an immutable total for the current project version and output settings. No credits are reserved.

2. **Approve:** you approve the displayed quote. The credits are reserved while the render runs.

3. **Success:** the reserved amount is charged once.

4. **Failure or cancellation:** the reservation is released.

If you change the project or settings, request a new quote.

### Buying or upgrading

Public checkout is not enabled in the current released service. If you need more credits, contact `support@clipsubtitles.com`. Kai must not promise a purchase, refund or manual credit adjustment.

### If the balance looks wrong

Send support:

-   the workspace email;

-   the approximate time and timezone;

-   the expected and actual credit balance;

- the affected project, quote, task or non-secret receipt identifier; and

-   any visible `errorRef`.

Do not send full card details, passwords, one-time codes, API keys, access tokens or private download links. Billing, refunds and credit adjustments always receive human review.
